Bry and I have been planning to go snowboarding together for a long time. For those of you who don't know my husband, snowboarding is one of his passions. After a big snow storm, all I want to do is crawl back in bed and sleep until the snow is gone. Bryson is generally there when the lifts open (8:30 AM!) on a good powder day. Because of pregnancies and babies, we've never been snowboarding together in our married life. I've only gone once in my lifetime. On Saturday I went for my second time with Bryson. We went to Brighton. It was the perfect day for me-nice and warm even in the mountains.I have to admit I was pretty nervous. I'm fairly athletic, but new stuff is always intimidating. Also, I really wanted to impress Bryson since I'm sure one or two old girlfriends were snowboarder chicks. All in all, I think I surpassed his expectations. As for my expectations, nothing could have prepared me for how sore my body is today. I feel like I've been in a car accident or something. If muscles could scream, mine would.
After four (punishing) runs, we called it quits. Bryson was an incredible teacher! He was so patient and he really explained everything clearly. Riding the lift and admiring the beauty of the mountains, with the sun on my face, was heavenly. It was so fun to finally get to do this together! On the way home, Bry got us lunch at the yummiest Mexican spot-Lonestar Taqueria. It was such a fun day!
The beginning of this month brought the 4A boy's state basketball tournament. We spent the better part of a week at the E Center watching my brother Ryan and his Bulldogs play all the way to the championship. It was so exciting. Can't wait for next year when the Bulldogs take it all.

aww Em how fun!! once you get the hang of it snowboarding seriously is a blast! I remember my first few times though my knees and tail bone killed because I kept falling on one or the other! also you look gorgeous in that last pic!
You went! I still haven't gone and I am scared because I know I will end up feeling like you do. In fact, I am pretty sure I would be the one to break something. :) So I was thinking of going and visiting Lisa this Saturday do you want to go? Just let me know, talk to you later!
Em! That totally sounds like when I went snowboarding!!! I remember the very last run crying because I hurt so bad all over. I wanted to walk down the mountain with my board instead of snowboard down. I didn't want to fall any more. I had bruises all over my body, and I ended up with a broken wrist. I tried it again, but I would like to - someday. Good for you for going and trying it! That's awesome! What a great husband to teach you. I taught my husband how to ski. Love it!!
Good for you, I think that's AWESOME! Will you go again? My husband has been trying for years to sell me cold weather sports-I am too cold blooded to enjoy it.
