When I got back to the hospital after putting Eleyna to bed, Hunter was still as pale as a sheet. He looked so defenseless and miserable. My dad and Bryson gave him a priesthood blessing. I felt comforted after that. He fell asleep around 8:30 Monday evening and slept through the night and the entire next day with only a few minutes of wakefulness here and there. Our doctor was concerned by his lethargy and was considering a lumbar puncture to check for meningitis. Thankfully, Tuesday evening he woke up and was alert for a couple of hours, so we didn't have to do the test. By Wednesday morning things were looking up. The doctors told us if Hunter tolerated his normal feed amounts for 24 hours that he could go home on Thursday. The pneumonia was responding well to the antibiotics and his blood work reflected the improvement.
Thursday we got to bring him home, and I took a big sigh of relief.
Thank you to the following individuals: Mom/Heather for watching Eleyna everyday so I could be at the hospital with Hunter, Janeen for coming to sit with Hunter so Bry and I could eat/shower/take a break, Jocelyn for babysitting Eleyna, Dad for helping Bryson give the blessing, my friend Sara and Sis. Hood for bringing dinner over after we got home, and Heavenly Father for prompting me to change doctors.

What a relief. I'm sorry about your scary week. Aren't we blessed to have the priesthood in our lives. We love you guys.
What a scary week! I'm so glad that Hunter is doing better and that you have such a wonderful pediatrician that listened to your concerns. We had to change Bria's doctor's for the same reason. I hope you are all doing well and we will remember Hunter and your family in our prayers.
I am so glad that Hunter is doing better. If you ever need anything please let me know. We will keep you guys in our prayers! Love ya!
oh man I can't even imagine the scare of having your own child be so sick like that, I am really glad everything turned out so well and what a rough week...
Poor little guy. I am so glad that he is doing better. It is such a blessing to be close to family. Please feel free to call me too if you ever need anything!! Give him some kisses from us.
My lame post can't compare to yours, we only had to stay one night and good thing, because we were ready to go home! It's not easy to get any rest in a hospital. I have a whole new level of sympathy for moms who have had to spend a significant amount of time in the hospital with children! Hope everyone stays healthy for the rest of this season. And you seem like such a great mom, Emily. I admire you for your courage, faith, and maturity.
What an emotional wekk. Emily, I hope that Hunter is on the mend and the you and Bryons are doing well too.
I am so glad everything turned out ok! That mother's intuition (aka the Spirit) is truly a life saver. Hunter is blessed to have you and Bryson for parents, and we are all blessed to have the gifts of the Gospel. I hope the rest of the winter/spring is uneventful!
